The quirks of air travel left me with an option returning from the Penn State game. One included a stop at New York’s LaGuardia airport.

On the 10th anniversary of Sept. 11, 2001.

It was a no brainer.

Bruce Springsteen’s album The Rising was the only option for flying music since it’s considered the leading artistic expression of grief for those in this part of the country.

Maybe it’s just me, but there isn’t much noise above the usual airport clatter this morning in LaGuardia.

It’s hard to escape what happened here 10 years and a few hours ago.
