Blog readers like recruiting haul

Now, more than a week after signing day, it’s a good time to look at the results of your voting. As it turns out, nobody thought Alabama did worse than a “C” on the old grading scale. And 73 percent of the voters gave the Crimson Tide an “A”

Coming Friday: A look at Sims, Milliner

In a surprising, yet positive turn of events, Alabama brought Phillip Sims and DeMarcus Milliner into the interview room Wednesday after Nick Saban’s signing day news conference. True freshman are never made available, so quasi-pre-freshmen were welcomed with open-arms by beat writers looking for a different story.

The story comes Friday. Read more about the pair, and look for a wider sweeping story about high school seniors enrolling early in college.

Fax cam goes dark

Alabama must not be expecting any new letters any time soon. The signing day fax cam that had been captivating fans and sports writers all morning is now dark.

“The media you’ve selected is currently unavailable” the message reads.

Maybe the intrigue is over. Stay tuned.

THIS JUST IN: Fax cam draws national attention here and here.

James Stone signs with Vols

Stone, who will make the announcement live on ESPNU, has already faxed his letter to Knoxville, according to the Tennessean. He is the second loss for the Tide today after Shon Coleman went with Auburn earlier this morning.

Any surprises? We’ll see.

Shon Colman goes with … Auburn

Just in: Shon Coleman goes with Auburn instead of Alabama. That leaves just one more on the board, offensive lineman James Stone.

By the way, if you’re watching the webcam, you just saw Heisman Trophy winner Mark Ingram give a quick wave.
