It’s that time again to take a daily look at what is making news in the Alabama athletics universe.

  • One of the first coaches to hire Nick Saban has died in Atlanta. Dennis Fryzel, 67, hired Saban to work as an assistant at Syracuse for a lofty sum of $14,000 in the early 1970s according to this story in the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. Read more of the obit to see just how much respect Fryzel had for the Crimson Tide head coach.
