Gee gets the NBA call

Former Tide basketball star Alonzo Gee got the call up from the NBDL to the big show.

He signed a 10-day contract with the Wizards of Washington and could play tonight in Boston. Gee was averaging 21.0 points per game in the minors playing for the Austin Toros.

Gee becomes the fourth Alabama product on an active NBA roster joining 2010 NBA All-Star Gerald Wallace (Charlotte), Mo Williams (Cleveland) and Antonio McDyess (San Antonio).

On a side note, the Tide baseball team lost its first game of the season, 7-6 at the College of Charleston. They had won the first eight games of the season.
