Fan Day videos, Part III (fans sprint to Saban)

Nothing stops Alabama fans from getting an autograph from Nick Saban.

There are a few thousand fans inside Bryant-Denny Stadium sweating out another “Fan Day.” The team is practicing right now as another gaggle of fans wait outside for the autograph signing.

I heard the person on line arrived here at 6 a.m. I sure hope it was worth the wait. Players and coaches will sign for 45 minutes after practice.

Video to come later. They don’t seem to want to upload right now.

And now, the final photo has been added to the Bryant-Denny Stadium expansion album. Enjoy.

Practice schedule, fan day info released

So, this crazy process begins again.
Alabama football players officially report a week from today although almost everyone is already on campus. Practice begins at 9:30 a.m. Thursday for the veterans and 7:30 p.m. for the rookies.

None of this means much to anyone outside of the program since all practices are off-limits to outside eyes. There are three two-a-day practices sprinkled in with workouts scheduled for 9:30 a.m. and 7:30 p.m. on all three occasions.

The only real date of significance is the annual “Fan Day” at Bryant-Denny Stadium. That spectacle is scheduled for 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 8. Of course, this is the same event that led to this now infamous moment involving a baby and a Nick Saban autograph a year ago.

Will peanut butter boy strike Saturday in Georgia?

In one of the more disturbing fanatical gestures in recent memory, the gentleman photographed by the Athens Banner-Herald several weeks ago loves his Georgia basketball (and peanut butter).

Keep your eyes pealed during the 3 p.m. telecast of Alabama’s road game at Georgia to see if Drake Scott makes a return to pervert the legacy of his state’s favorite agricultural product and terrify everyone in his presence.

To read a complete account of his madness, read this story from the Athens newspaper.

Here is a quick taste (pun intended):

Since slathering himself up with peanut butter for Georgia basketball’s game with Tennessee, Scott, a Georgia junior from Dacula, has become a phenomenon on Facebook and online discussion boards.

The self-professed super fan is no stranger to shenanigans, painting himself up for countless Georgia sporting events, and wearing outlandish ’80s-inspired garb when he doesn’t do that.

But peanut butter? This one was in a league of its own.
