It’s been about a month since the NFL draft and the Crimson Tide players selected are settling into their new surroundings. Here are a few updates courtesy of the beat writers who cover the teams and a few other newspapers.
Leigh Tiffin wasn’t drafted, but he signed on with the Cleveland Browns. The TimesDaily ran this update in today’s paper.
Terrence Cody appears to be doing well with the Baltimore Ravens, according to this story and this story.
Javier Arenas is working at nickel back with the Chiefs, the Kansas City Star reports.
Mike Johnson is working with the Falcons second-team offensive line, so says the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
Rolando McClain, the San Francisco Examiner says, is “a stud.”
Kige Ramsey didn’t play at Alabama, but he does like his Tennessee Titans jerseys and makes great videos. Here is your Kige video of the day.
It’s been a few weeks since the draft followed by mini-camp. Now it’s time for a quick video update on the eighth pick of the draft, Rolando McClain.
Check out this video from the Oakland Raiders’ website where McClain sits down with the voice of the Raiders, Greg Papa.
It looks like the Decatur native and Butkus Award winner is adjusting well to his new surroundings, a new defense and a new jersey number. Check it out.

You may have noticed a gap in postings. If so, good eye. I took a few days away from Bamaland by retreating to my hometown of Louisville, Ky. It was Derby season and there is no better time to be in Louisville than Derby season.
Now, after a delayed return because of feared traffic jams in flood ravaged Nashville, I’m back in Alabama and ready to get back to work.
The Bama Blog lives again.
And now, your long overdue Kige Ramsey video of the day that has a near Alabama mention.
Quarterback Greg McElroy joined gymnast Kassi Price as recipients of the Paul W. Bryant Award that goes to Alabama’s top male and female student-athletes.
Being a national championship winning quarterback is only part of the award. McElroy got his degree in three years and is currently working on his masters in sports administration. In December, he told us that he’d only received one B in college, fittingly in a leadership course.
Price has a 4.0 GPA with a double major in marketing and advertisement and a two-time academic All-American.
And now, your daily Kige Ramsey video. Remember it is from two years ago.

The “positive self gratitude” just keeps rolling in for Mark Ingram, pictured above throwing out the first pitch at yesterday’s Alabama baseball game.
According to this report in the Detroit Free Press, the Heisman Trophy winner might be getting his name some roadway back in his native Flint, Mich.
Winning the Heisman is one thing, but this is something usually reserved for presidents, governors and such. Not bad for a college kid.
And now, in a new Bama Blog feature, please enjoy this video by fellow Western Kentucky University product Kige Ramsey. This will be a semi-regular feature as requested by a loyal reader.
