VIDEO: Day 2 at the Senior Bowl

See everything from James Carpenter’s weigh-in to the South team’s practice including Greg McElroy throwing passes, signing autographs and posing for pictures with Archie Manning. Nick Saban also made an appearance at practice along with several NFL head coaches.

Also see a few new snap shots in the photo gallery.

VIDEO: Tide practices on chilly Saturday

I made it just in time to slip inside the pearly gates and grab a few glimpses of Saturday’s football practice. See linebackers coach Sal Sunseri work with his fellas on the finer points of hand and footwork.

There’s also a little of the offensive and defensive lines installing some of the game plan for the Capital One Bowl against Michigan State. Enjoy.

VIDEO: Tide continues preparations for Hogs

It’s just another reasonably warm afternoon in Tuscaloosa and the Tide football team was back on the field preparing for its top-10 showdown with Arkansas.

Check out this video including the offensive line, Nick Saban working with the defensive backs and the linebackers.

You can also click here to watch the new viral video of a mother threatening to take her crying young child into “the Auburn store” in what appears to be the Riverchase Galleria in Hoover. This one is making the rounds today so why not pass it along.

VIDEO: Higtower brings it in practice

Here is a quick look at Dont’a Hightower delivering a solid pop at Monday afternoon’s practice. I’d post a full practice video, but they are all starting to look alike.

Check out Wednesday’s paper for a more complete look at the quarterbacks going nose to nose Saturday when the Crimson Tide travels to Arkansas. What’s important this Monday afternoon

It’s back to the weekly grind this Monday afternoon. Here’s what is making news in the Alabama universe this week.

  • The Alabama/Florida game will air in prime time next Saturday. CBS picked up the SEC Championship rematch for its 7 p.m. (Central) broadcast. It will be the third night game of the year through five games.
  • Nothing major came out of the afternoon news conference with Nick Saban and selected players.
  • On the injury front, the only player Saban won’t practice today is defensive end Luther Davis. He sprained an ankle and a knee against Duke, but Saban expects he’ll be back for Tuesday’s practice.
  • Mark Ingram said he was a little sore after his big debut at Duke, but it wasn’t anything unusual.

Check out this video of former Tide linebacker Rolando McClain getting nasty in yesterday’s game with the Raiders. More to come later.

VIDEO: Alabama invades Duke

Before heading to the airport, I offer you this final look around the gorgeous Duke campus. From Cameron Indoor Stadium to Wallace Wade Stadium, it’s hard to come away unimpressed by the scenery. Enjoy and I’ll catch you back in Alabama.

VIDEO: Ingram, Richardson come right at you

Mark Ingram appears to be running and cutting just fine on the left knee he injured Aug. 30. Watch him, Trent Richardson and the rest of the Crimson Tide running backs at practice Wednesday afternoon.

For a few other scenes from practice, see this one.

And if you want a good laugh, read this opinion piece from the Toronto Globe and Mail that speaks out against the unsportsmanlike act of cheering too loudly during a football game.

Here is the most recent video of Alabama practicing for Duke shot just this afternoon. Notice the power with which Mark Ingram and Trent Richardson attack the sled to start the video.

The Paterno video, new blog option

Check out that video of Joe Paterno blowing up at reporters below, but while I have your attention, I encourage you to check out the newest blog on The Decatur Daily website.

For some reason it doesn’t have a link on our homepage yet, but just click here to see the high school sports blog called “River City Rumblings.” Daily writers Cody Whitlock and Mike Cummings are putting out a quality product and it shouldn’t go unnoticed. So bookmark it next to the Daily Bama Blog and you’ll be all set.

Take it away, Joe.

VIDEO: Ingram practices Monday

We didn’t see him all last week, but Mark Ingram was back on the practice field during Monday’s media viewing period.

Sporting a brace on his left knee, but a regular white jersey instead of the black non-contact version reserved for injured players. He didn’t appear to be running or walking with a limp so his return Saturday at Duke looks like a decent bet. But you can judge for yourself.

And for a poor attempt at a time lapse of Saturday’s game with Penn State, here you go.

A final look at Penn State

It’s almost time to move on, but let’s take one final look at Penn State. There are many angles to take whether it be the defense holding a second straight opponent out of the end zone or the offensive balance that led to a quick 14 points.

There certainly isn’t a shortage of stories about the game with a huge national media presence in Bryant-Denny Stadium on Saturday. Here’s a quick taste.

New York Daily News: Joe Paterno accorded iconic status, but Alabama thumps coach’s Penn State Nittany Lions, 24-3
ESPN: Bama rolls, but inexperience shows
Centre Daily News: Nittany Lions missing guns in dual with Tide
Pittsburgh Post-Gazette: Penn State defense rolled by Alabama
New York Post: No. 1 Alabama handles Penn St.

In that New York Post story, you read about Joe Paterno’s postgame news conference blow up. Here’s video of it.

It’s time to look at Duke now. Buzz kill, I know.

VIDEO: Penn St. game day start to finish

In case you didn’t make it to the game, check out this video for the complete game day experience, start to finish, as Alabama sent Penn State home with a 24-3 beating Saturday evening.

Alabama wins, Rammer Jammers

Before leaving Bryant-Denny Stadium on this muggy Saturday night (almost Sunday morning, I leave you with this video of the “Rammer Jammer” following Alabama’s 24-3 win over Penn State.

A video history of Alabama/Penn State

The magic of the internet comes through once again. If you needed a refresher course on the history of Alabama’s long-dormant rivalry with Penn State, take a quick look at the following videos.

The all-time classic came in 1979 when the Tide beat the Nittany Lions 14-7 in the Sugar Bowl to win the national title. The famous goal line stand ended it.

VIDEO: Running backs, receivers practice

Alabama is practicing inside today, and before you ask, Mark Ingram was not spotted during the media viewing period. Don’t be confused in the video posted below, the No. 22 is on the scout team. IT IS NOT MARK INGRAM.

Next, here are the receivers led by Julio Jones, Earl Alexander (82) and Brandon Gibson (11) with quarterbacks AJ McCarron (10), Phillip Sims (14) and Greg McElroy (12).
