$4,000 for 2 tickets to Tide/Rebels?

Although I can’t say it with certainty, I think I’ve found the priciest ticket for Saturday’s Alabama game at Ole Miss.

And the owner doesn’t even get a seat!

Bidding on the Ole Miss Web site is up to $4,000 for two sideline passes to the 2:30 p.m. game. Click here to see the auction price as it updates. And for a full description of the winning bidder’s prize, click here.

If they’re unlucky, they might get a reminder from this sports writer that I paid nothing to get the same access at the end of the game.

Evil? Maybe a little.

Tide tickets still available

Alabama sent out a release this morning about the availability of tickets for two of the home football games this season.

You can still get tickets for the Sept. 12 home-opener with Florida International and the Nov. 21 home finale with UT-Chattanooga. The surplus came after the visitors could not sell their allotment.

The other four home dates are sold out.

If you want to get your hands on those extra tickets, check out the official athletics Web site, rolltide.com or call (205) 348-BAMA.

Tide football tickets will cost $10 more in 2009

From the Associated Press, ticket prices are going up, just just a little. Read the following for more and expect a little more depth in Tuesday’s Daily.

Alabama boosts season tickets $10

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (AP) — Alabama fans won’t take a much bigger hit for football season tickets.

The tickets will cost $10 more than last season, rising to $365 for seven home games. That’s the same increase as the past two seasons though the Crimson Tide is coming off a Southeastern Conference championship game and Sugar Bowl trip.

The Birmingham News reported the increase Monday.

It represents an increase of just under 3 percent.

The Tide has home games with Florida International, North Texas, Arkansas, South Carolina, Tennessee, LSU and Tennessee-Chattanooga.
