Video of Alabama winning 500th game in Coleman, ending losing skid

Arkansas made it interesting, but Alabama’s struggling veterans took control in the closing moments to win 72-66 in Coleman Coliseum.

With major implications for the NCAA tournament transcript, Crimson Tide upperclassmen took over. JaMychal Green scored 10 of his 14 points in the second half.

Trevor Releford had 18 to lead the Tide, which shot 50 percent from the field after the last four rough offensive performances ended in losses.

Well, make that four. Remember Alabama opted against the traditional celebration after beating Kent State in light of the school’s assistance following the April 27 tornado.

Iron Bowl game day videos

There was too much footage to limit this one to a single game day video. So here you go, check out Part I that includes tailgating, Cam Newton signage and his entrance into Bryant-Denny Stadium to the songs “Take the Money and Run” and “Son of a Preacher Man.”

Then it’s on to the pregame warm-ups, Senior Day moments, team introductions, kickoff and the final few moments of the game including Auburn’s celebration and its mockery of “Rammer Jammer.”

Not a terrible crowd to start

I know most of you have moved on from Thursday night’s Alabama win over Georgia State, but the turnout was a matter of discussion earlier in the week, so why not address it on this eerily quiet Saturday afternoon.

First, let me say that I was surprised by how many seats were filled at kickoff. Also see this and this.

The students

After that, the support dwindled.

End of the first half.

Third quarter

Fourth quarter

By the end of the game, there were plenty of good seats available. See the video below to see how many people had left. Also listen for the “Rammer Jammer” cheer after the final play. It sounded like the marching band was playing something different, but the few hundred remaining students couldn’t resist.

VIDEO: Alabama invades Duke

Before heading to the airport, I offer you this final look around the gorgeous Duke campus. From Cameron Indoor Stadium to Wallace Wade Stadium, it’s hard to come away unimpressed by the scenery. Enjoy and I’ll catch you back in Alabama.

In case you didn’t make it to the game, check out this video for the complete game day experience, start to finish, as Alabama sent Penn State home with a 24-3 beating Saturday evening.

Alabama wins, Rammer Jammers

Before leaving Bryant-Denny Stadium on this muggy Saturday night (almost Sunday morning, I leave you with this video of the “Rammer Jammer” following Alabama’s 24-3 win over Penn State.
