FINAL: Alabama 62, Mississippi State 57
3:58: Alabama now leads 53-48 after a quick 7-0 response. This should be a good ending.
7:18: How quickly things change. Mississippi State leads 48-46 after going on a 14-0 run.
11:37: Alabama now leads 44-34 as it reversed its recent trend of blowing second half leads. At least for now. A 15-4 run has the biggest home crowd of the season rocking. Will it last? Stay tuned.
15:54: Alabama leads 35-34 as things get tighter. The Bulldogs took their first lead of the game early in the half, but the Tide answered back. Mississippi State switched to a zone late in the first, forcing more jump shots. Mikhail Torrance and Anthony Brock both knocked down 3-pointers early in the half
FIRST HALF
Halftime: Alabama leads 27-26, but the familiar storyline is playing out just as it has in the previous Tide losses. It hasn’t taken advantage of the breaks it received (poor MSU shooting) and allowed the visitor to catch up my making just one field goal in the final 7:30 of the half.
5:11: Alabama still leads 24-17, but the Bulldogs are showing a little more life. Their shooting percentage is up to 24 percent (6-for-25).
11:45: Alabama leads 16-6 as Mississippi State is shooting 2-for-14 from the field. That’s 14.3 percent if you’re not in the mood for your own math.
15:53: Alabama leads 12-4 in a familiar situation. Big runs highlighted the beginning of the last two home losses. Mikhail Torrance scored 8 of the first 12 with a pair of 3-pointers. We’ll see if the Crimson Tide can hang on this time.
