The visual difference between Alabama, Auburn trips to BCS games

We wrote about this in today’s print edition, now take a look at a few visuals to go with the story. Traveling to the BCS championship game can be an expensive thing.

Here’s a chart breaking down the cost for Alabama (2010, ’12) and Auburn (2011) when excluding coaching bonus payments. Alabama’s 2011 Capital One Bowl trip was thrown in there for perspective.

Now, you can see the complete breakdown of costs for each category for all four trips. If you’re a numbers junkie like me, you’ll find it interesting.

Note Auburn didn’t include coaching bonuses in the “other” category while Alabama did. Just a difference in accounting methods.
