Nick Saban received the Bobby Bowden national coach of the year award this evening in Birmingham.
He just spoke with reporters along with Bowden and Lee Corso.
Among the topics discussed was Trent Richardson’s minor knee injury suffered before the BCS championship game.
Richardson only recently revealed the unspecified injury. Saban said it wasn’t even diagnosed until after the game.
Saban said Richardson took a helmet to the knee in practice.
“He wasn’t limited at all,” Saban said.
Richardson didn’t complain about pain until after the game, Saban said. The scope came after that.
Check back later for video from Saban, Corso and Bowden.
