JaMychal Green: Tide ”lackadaisical’’’ in Ole Miss loss

The good vibes surrounding the Alabama basketball program disappeared real quick this afternoon in Oxford. That four-game winning streak vanished too.

The 60-51 beating dealt by Ole Miss was especially surprising given the post-game comments made the Anthony Grant and players.

For a regular-season finale, this was not supposed to be an issue, right?

“We came out lackadaisical. We weren’t prepared,” senior JaMychal Green said. “There wasn’t a lot of energy in the first half. They jumped out and got a lead on us and we couldn’t overcome it.”

The mood was light for the pregame shoot around, just as it usually is. But the intensity only came in fleeting moments of energy.

Read more about Anthony Grant’s reaction to the effort level in tomorrow’s paper.

  1. “Effort was the main issue, Grant said.”

no, the “main” issue today, yesterday, this past week is that this team needed a coach. for large chunks of this game it didn’t have one.

anthony grant sat on the sidelines for extended periods of this game silent, staring straight ahead, hands covering his mouth.

jamychal green started, played 34 minutes. we look like crap.
