Before you tune in to the 12:30 p.m. basketball game between Alabama and Tennessee, read the following.
The Crimson Tide coaching staff will be wearing blue bow ties for a reason. From the news release distributed by the school:
“On The Line and the Black Coaches & Administrators (BCA) have partnered to educate men on the risks of prostate cancer, especially African-American men, who are statistically more prone to the disease. One in six men will be diagnosed with prostate cancer in his lifetime, making prostate cancer more prevalent than breast cancer.
African American men are at even greater risk, as one in five will be diagnosed with prostate cancer. African American men are also more likely to develop prostate cancer than other ethnic groups and are more likely to die from the disease.”
Another worthy cause for coaches to support. So don’t don’t have to wonder why the wardrobe is a little different than normal.
