You can read much more on this topic in tomorrow’s newspaper, but take a look at the chart that tracks Alabama’s national ranking in the AP poll as it related to its loss total.
It peaked at No. 12 after winning the first seven games, then dipped when losing three of four non-conference games.
The season’s second apex came in the first week of SEC play. A 71-58 win over LSU came four days after Alabama’s football team did the same in the BCS national title football game. At 13-3, with five straight wins, things were clicking.
Then they snapped.
Four straight losses began at Mississippi State and continued against Vanderbilt, then at No. 1 Kentucky and lowly South Carolina.
The team has not been ranked since mid-December after 71-58 loss at Kansas State.
Much more on the state of the program comes your way tomorrow. Save those quarters and pick up a paper.
