Updating Alabama’s standing in RPI

Computers read numbers. The process them. And a few spit out college basketball rankings. Fortunately for Alabama, the machines can’t read headlines.

The Crimson Tide dropped just one spot in the latest RPI after the week of turmoil and four suspensions. With three weeks of regular-season play remaining, Alabama is No. 32 in the all-important measure used by the NCAA tournament selection committee.

No. 26 Florida comes to Coleman Coliseum at 6 p.m., Tuesday followed by No. 110 Tennessee on Saturday. The Vols moved up from No. 142 after beating the previously No. 14 Gators last Saturday.
