The compensation committee of the University of Alabama’s board of trustees just approved the contract for the second-highest ranking member of the athletics department.
Shane Lyons, deputy director of athletics, will make $265,000 a year to run the day to day operations of the Crimson Tide department.
He replaced Dave Hart who took the athletics director position at Tennessee last fall. Lyons was a former official with the ACC and the NCAA.
Finus Gaston, the CFO for UA athletics, presented the contract to the compensation committee this afternoon instead of athletics director Mal Moore.
