Update 6:09 p.m.: Andrew Steele posted the following message on his Twitter account earlier this evening:
“Thanks to everyone for the prayers and concerns! Thankfully it was nothing major and I’m good!”
Original post: There was understandable concern over the health of Alabama junior Andrew Steele in the first half of last night’s Tide loss to Vanderbilt.
By this afternoon, the worries of another concussion were gone. Coach Anthony Grant said Steele “should be ok,” and could play as soon as Saturday at Kentucky.
Steele was playing only his fifth game back after concussions seemed to have ended his career. He took a blow on a screen from Commodore center Festus Ezeli that left him lightheaded in the 69-59 loss.
The Alabama medical staff will take continue evaluating Steele’s health before he’s cleared to play.
