It’s basketball time again. Alabama faces the first of three tough SEC games with a quick road trip to Starkville to face the 20th-ranked Bulldogs of Mississippi State.

A few notes: Alabama rides a five-game winning streak into Starkville to play a Mississippi State team it has beaten in three of the last four meetings. … The Tide swept both games last year but hasn’t won three straight in the series since 2005. … Mississippi State won 10 of the last 13 games played in Starkville. … After winning 11 straight games, the Bulldogs are 2-2 in their last four games. Losses came to Baylor (54-52) and Arkansas (98-88). … MSU is coming off a quick turnaround after beating Tennessee 62-58 on Thursday night in Starkville. … Alabama allows 55.7 points a game to rank eighth nationally. Only four teams have scored more than 60 points this season while Mississippi State averages 74.8 a game.
