Alabama players set curfew for game week near French Quarter

New Orleans is a fun city. Too fun sometimes.

Ground zero for that is the French Quarter and world-famous Bourbon Street. Walk two blocks from the Alabama team hotel and players find the long strip of bars, street performers and, well, fun of all kinds.

But what about the job at hand? This is still a business trip with a crystal football on the line. So the team leadership group met to decide on a reasonable curfew for the days leading up to Monday’s kickoff.

Fourth-year junior linebacker Dont’a Hightower said they decided on a time between midnight and 1 a.m.

“I already had my fun in New Orleans as a freshman,” Hightower said.

Much more to come from New Orleans. Don’t change the channel.
