Heisman Trophy finalists announced and Trent Richardson …

… is going to New York.

That’s right, Trent Richardson has a shot at winning the second Heisman Trophy in three years for Alabama.

The other finalists include (in no order): Montee Ball (Wisconsin), Andrew Luck of Stanford, Tyrann Mathieu (LSU), Robert Griffin III (Baylor).

“It is a dream to be selected as a finalist for the Heisman Trophy,” Richardson said in a news release. “There are very few people that can say they were a candidate for the Heisman Trophy and even less that can say they were a finalist. This is a tremendous honor, but one that wouldn’t be possible without my teammates, especially my offensive line. As far as I’m concerned this is a team award.”

The ceremony is Saturday evening in Times Square and will be televised live on ESPN. The Daily Bama Blog will be live on the scene providing all the stuff you won’t get on TV.
