Take a read over the story in today’s Decatur Daily chronicling the arrest of former Alabama football player Rolando McClain for his alleged involvement in a Decatur shooting. Daily reporters Bayne Hughes and Seth Burkett wrote this story:
The victim of an assault told Decatur authorities that Oakland Raiders standout Rolando McClain and another man beat him, leaving him with a broken nose, swollen eyes and a concussion before McClain put a pistol to his head.
Christian Tapscott, 23, said in court documents that McClain threatened to kill him and fired a shot next to his ear Wednesday night.
Word traveled fast through the NFL, as well as Decatur, on Thursday when McClain was arrested at a friend’s house on Horsetree Place Southeast by Decatur police. McClain was charged with third-degree assault, menacing, reckless endangerment and discharging a firearm in the city limits. All are misdemeanors.
