Alabama dominates first-half scoreboard, stat sheet

Of course you know Alabama is beating Auburn 24-7 at halftime for the second straight season. It could get ugly. I guess it already is. Consider the following first-half stats:

  • Alabama tight end has 86 receiving yards on six catches.
  • Auburn has 31 total yards on 18 plays.
  • Alabama possessed the ball for 18:24 of the first half. That left Auburn with 11:36.
  • It’s hard to control the ball when you have only one first down in the first half. The Tigers have 1 to Alabama’s 13.
  • Trent Richardson had a big second quarter to take 61 rushing yards on 14 attempts to the locker room. He also has a touchdown catch.
  • AJ McCarron is 14-for-16 for 164 yards and three TDs.
  • His fumble was returned for Auburn’s only score.
