Scalped Iron Bowl tickets not most expensive of the weekend

Could there possibly be a college football game with more demand for tickets this weekend? Certainly nothing is bigger than an Iron Bowl with a possible ticket to the BCS title game available. Right?

Wrong.

According to ticket resale aggregating experts TiqIQ.com, the rivalry matchup between Texas and Texas A&M have a higher average price. Those seats are going for an average of $341 a pop while the Alabama-Auburn ticket average $315.

Sounds crazy since neither team has any shot at a title of any sort this January, but consider the circumstances.

This could be the last time this hated intrastate showdown is played. The Aggies are jumping to the SEC largely because of issues they had with the Longhorns. Now that’s a rivalry.
