It’s been more than a week since Alabama freshman running back Dee Hart was last spotted at practice.
Alabama coach Nick Saban updated the situation surrounding the former top-prospect after Wednesday’s practice.
“Dee Hart is still part of the team,” he said. “He’s doing some things that he needs to do to take care of the personal issues. When he takes care of those issues, he’ll be back out at practice.”
Saban did not elaborate on the nature of the issue facing the former top recruit.
“It’s not unusual for me when guys have issues or problems, that they go manage their problems rather than practicing football,” Saban said. “He’s doing everything that he’s supposed to do and he’s taken responsibility and doing it the right way. But I don’t think it’s the public’s business what he did.”
Hart hasn’t played all season after reportedly tearing his ACL over the summer. He dressed for the first time Nov. 5 against LSU, but wasn’t seen on the practice field the following week.
Enrolling in January, Hart was a standout in spring practice while competing for playing time as a backup to Trent Richardson.
