Noteworthy: Oakland opens its season after back-to-back NCAA tournament appearances and a 34-2 Summit League record over the past two seasons. It lost to Texas, 85-81 in the first round last season. … The Grizzlies had the nation’s second-ranked scoring offense a year ago averaging 85.5 points a game, while Alabama’s defense ranked eighth allowing 59.4 a game. … Alabama’s 21-game winning streak is the six longest in the nation dating back to the 2009-10 season. … Tide point guard Trevor Releford is familiar with the player he’ll guard tonight. The Kansas City native used to play pick-up games with Reggie Hamilton before he transferred from UM-Kansas City to Oakland. … Tonight’s game is the last tune-up for the Tide before playing in the three-game Puerto Rico Tipoff starting Thursday against Maryland.
