The Southeastern Conference was quite impressed with the play of Alabama linebacker Dont’a Hightower from Saturday’s game at Mississippi State.

His 11-tackle game in Starkville was good enough to earn his second SEC defensive player of the week honor in three games. Among those 11 stops were 2.5 tackles for loss and 1.5 sacks.

Hightower leads Alabama with 66 tackles — 8.5 for loss and three sacks on the nation’s top defense.
