Halftime notes from Alabama-North Florida hoops

It was quite an unsightly first half here in Coleman Coliseum. Even the Taco vs. Hot Sauce competition was deplorable. Here’s what matters with Alabama leading North Florida 29-16:

  • Tony Mitchell’s 10 points leads all scorers. His six straight points gave the Tide its first 12-point lead of the half. JaMychal Green is next with 7.
  • Turnovers: Alabama 8, North Florida 8.
  • North Florida missed its first six free throws before finishing half 5-of-12 (41.7 percent).
  • Both combined for 2-of-15 shooting from perimeter. Alabama (1-for-6) was 16.7 percent while North Florida was 1-for-9 or 11.1 percent.
  • Freshman Levi Randolph has the only Tide 3.
  • Tony Mitchell, Trevor Releford, JaMychal Green, Carl Engstrom, and Charles Hankerson each have two fouls.
