Good morning and welcome back to the work week. Here’s a taste of this week’s Inside Alabama beat column:
TUSCALOOSA — The gridlocked parking lot on Interstate 20/59 cleared up at some point Sunday.
The hangover remained.
Alabama’s shot at perfection evaporated with missed opportunities late Saturday night when LSU slipped through the side door 9-6 overtime winners.
Absent was the Julio Jones touchdown catch that saved the Tide against LSU two years ago. There was no Terrence Cody field-goal block. Undefeated championship teams make those breaks.
Still, Alabama’s future isn’t completely lost. And those to blame for the Saturday night failure don’t necessarily wear soccer shoes.
