Beware! Phony tickets on market

The University of Alabama issued a warning today to the crush of fans headed to Tuscaloosa for Saturday’s game with LSU.

Buy from scalpers with caution. It’s a seller’s market and desperation leads sloppy buying. And the scammers are more than happy to take your cash without looking back.

If you’re worried about the tickets you bought, bring them by the Coleman Coliseum ticket office between 8 a.m., and 5 p.m., to have them checked by the professionals.

“The lone authorized outlet for Alabama football tickets is the UA Athletic Ticket Office,” said Chris Besanceney, the assistant ticket director at Alabama. “Buyers who purchase tickets from other sources do so at their own risk.”

You’ve been warned. Buy with caution.
