The insanity has begun. Senior Bowl week is underway.
Now that my first afternoon/evening in the hotel lobby is complete, here are a few observations:
- This pro football thing is serious. These scouts don’t play games. When they see a player walking across the lobby, they snatch him up and find somewhere to talk.
- There is no such thing as over evaluation. Everything is taken into consideration when millions of dollars are on the line.
- These guys are huge.
- It’s easy to forget just how massive some of these players are. Alabama’s James Carpenter didn’t make many appearances in the interview room back in Tuscaloosa, but he was hard to lose today at 6-5, 300 pounds.
- Auburn’s Lee Ziemba is even bigger at 6-8, 319.
Read more tomorrow about how Alabama and Auburn players are getting along now that they’re teammates.
